Separation of Church and Hate

There's only one thing I'm certain about when it comes to religion. The Religious Right is neither.

From Dobson to Falwell to Robertson, the message of love is more likely to be drowned out by the current theme of hate. In the name of God, these self-appointed messengers are drunk with the feeling of power that comes from owning their very own President.

I do have a question for Pat Robertson. What part of "Thou Shalt Not Kill" is confusing to him?

And, it's not exactly comforting when the most prominent misogynistic homophobe in the Catholic Church suddenly becomes Pope. Black smoke, indeed.

Lately, I find myself cheering on the rapture crowd. They can't leave soon enough to suit me.

I've already got my eyes on some of the property they'll leave behind. Dibs on Liberty University. It should make a fine public school.

I always thought the reason for a separation of church and state was so that a very powerful government couldn't make demands on churches. I'm beginning to realize that it cuts both ways, and a powerful church can be just as damaging.

I love spreading the meme that Jesus was a Liberal. It really pisses off the Right-Wingers.

Oh, and here's one with a rainbow.

And I leave you with this prayer.
